Calorie Coach ("we," "us") is a nutrition-coaching application operated by Michael Torbert (sole proprietor), Reedville, Virginia, USA. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — email address and display name.
- Health & nutrition data you log — meals, exercise, weight, goals, and preferences you enter to receive coaching.
- Phone number (optional) — only if you enable SMS notifications in the app.
- Usage data — basic app activity used to improve coaching quality.
How we use your information
- To provide personalized nutrition coaching, reminders, and progress summaries.
- To send notifications you have opted into (push and/or SMS).
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal information.
SMS / text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and SMS opt-in consent are used solely to deliver the Calorie Coach notifications you requested. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
- SMS is strictly opt-in: you enable it in the app's Notification Settings and verify your number before any message is sent.
- Message frequency varies (typically a few messages per week). Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. You can also disable SMS in the app.

Data sharing
We share data only with the service providers required to operate Calorie Coach (cloud hosting, AI processing for coaching responses, email and SMS delivery), each bound to use it solely to provide their service to us. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Data retention & your rights
- You can export all of your data from the app at any time.
- You can delete your account in the app; deletion permanently removes your personal data from our systems.
- You may contact us at any time to exercise these rights.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is authenticated, and we follow least-privilege practices for production systems.
Children
Calorie Coach is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
